Rent the Opera House
If you are looking for a unique venue to hold your performance, meeting, reception, wedding, or other special event, look no further than Stuart’s Opera House. Stuart’s Opera House is available to host all kinds of special events.
One of America’s most charming and intimate theatres, Stuart’s Opera House has the capacity of 395 in the second-story theatre and 75 in our Lobby (street level). Set on Nelsonville’s Historic Public Square, the opera house offers many services and equipment for your special event. These include:
- Event coordination
- Tables and chairs
- Caterer facilitation
- Ticket printing and sales
- Technical support including lighting and sound
- Dressing rooms
- House manager, ushers, and ticket takers
- Intermission refreshments

Pricing Structure for Rentals
Rental fees for 1879 Room Lobby:Staffing costs for the 1879 Room Lobby and/or Theatre
Stuart's Opera House will determine staffing needs on a per event basis.
Cleaning fee: An additional $100 cleaning fee will be applied to any event.
Tickets
$20 will be charged to cover the cost of printing tickets for any ticketed event. Stuart's Opera House charges 10% of gross ticket sales from our box office.
Miscellaneous
Event cost will be estimated in the contract.
If renting the theatre after 5:00pm, a minimum five hour rental is required.
Professional sound and lighting are available for additional costs.
Projector and screen in theatre are available for additional costs.
Any special/additional clean-up or repair caused by the renter's use of the facility will be billed to the user at full cost.
