Stuart’s Opera House hosts the annual A Night With the Legends show. This popular annual show, which begins at 7 p.m., features Athens and Nelsonville area celebrities playing tribute to some of music’s biggest stars with performances on the Stuart’s stage, all to raise money for the Opera House.

Organized by local (occasional) entertainer Alex Couladis, this event packs the Opera House each summer, and tickets usually sell fast. This year’s event will feature tribute performances by Abba, Lionel Richie, Englebert Humperdink, James Taylor, Melissa Etheridge, Joan Jett, Jennifer Holliday, the Pointer Sisters, Tina Turner, Barbara Streisand, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, The Temptations, Carly Simon, and more.

Music for the evening’s performers will be provided by the Night with the Legends House Band featuring Bill Rawlins, Jeff Redefer and Steve Phalen of Athens band Broken Ring, along with Kay Carter, Pete Couladis, Scott Carson, Doug Carter, Ted Harris, Greg Sigmund, Paul Hogue, and the Night with the Legends backup singers.

2013 marks the sixth year for A Night With the Legends at Stuart’s Opera House. The event is organized by Alex Couladis, an Athens native, CPA, business development consultant and Stuart’s Opera House board member. Known locally for his impersonations of Elvis and Vanilla Ice, Couladis has organized fund-raising events for the USO and Shade Community Center.

In addition to himself, Couladis has enlisted local celebrities JoAnn Wolfe, Sharell Arocho, Angela Blair, Andy Stone, Bill L’Heureux, Tanyah Stone, Annah Korpi, Justin Duvall and more to perform.
