Join us for the art opening of Deep in Ohio, a show by Savannah Freeman of Moonville Print Shop. “Deep in Ohio is a series of block prints created in the last year and a half that tries to reveal the deep sense of place that I feel when wandering through the woods and meadows of my home state. I feel grounded here. And continually astonished by the sheer abundance that is Southeast Ohio. Something about this place seems to hold me close. It’s heavy and loud and full and soft and I’m part of it. And always, the more I look, the more I find.” – Savannah Freeman

More about Savannah Freeman:
My work is inspired by the natural world and almost exclusively features plants and animals native to Southeast Ohio — where I live with my family. I am completely self-taught and printmaking started as a way for me to portray my love for the biodiversity of my area. I will never stop being amazed by the sheer number of plants native to this part of the world and I hope that my work can help others appreciate it and care for it too.
