Location: Stuart’s Opera House
Hailing from rural Southeast Ohio, The Wayfarers emerged onto the scene in early 2010, playing their own blend of American Roots music. Their live performances have attracted people of all ages, drawn to the sounds of thumping washtub bass, driving guitars, sawing fiddles and rich vocal harmonies.
With old-time radio shows setting the example, The Wayfarers’ style encompasses Appalachian dance music, traditional mountain fiddle tunes, and pre-bluegrass music of the 1920s, resulting in a dose of nostalgic Americana. However, the band is not a nostalgia act–their intent is to carry the music forward with creativity and authenticity, while making it contemporary and fun.
