Stuart’s Opera House is presenting an evening of bluegrass music at 8 p.m. this Friday with International Bluegrass Music Association award winners Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out. Athens County’s own The Hart Brothers will open the show.

IIIrd Tyme Out has won the IBMA “Vocal Group of the Year” seven years in a row and has two decades of making music under its belts.

Led by the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) three-time “Male Vocalist Of The Year,” Russell Moore, IIIrd Tyme Out, consisting of Moore (guitar), Steve Dilling (banjo), Justen Haynes (fiddle), Wayne Benson (mandolin) and Edgar Loudermilk (bass), has walked away with IBMA’s “Vocal Group Of The Year” award seven consecutive years, according to a news release. The band has garnered 50 industry awards since their inception in 1991.

The Hart Brothers Band was formed in 1979 by Myron “Pete” Hart, Heamon “Tib” Hart and Arman “Sam” Hart. In the years before and since Sam passed away in 1983, several musicians have played in the band and contributed to the group’s style, which is considered “modern traditional bluegrass,” according to the release. They currently play 30-35 weekends a year.
