Spoken & Heard is a seasonal series of literary events hosted by Kari Gunter-Seymour, Poet Laureate of Ohio, featuring award-winning authors, poets and singer/songwriters from across the country. February’s event will feature Allison Joseph (poet) and Wesley Brown (author).

Allison Joseph
Allison Joseph lives, writes, and teaches in Carbondale, Illinois, where she is on the faculty at Southern Illinois University. Her poetry collection, Confessions of a Barefaced Woman (Red Hen Press) was a finalist for the NAACP Image Award in Poetry and won the Feathered Quill Book Award. Her newest books include Lexicon (Red Hen Press), The Last Human Heart (Diode Editions). Smart Pretender (Finishing Line Press), and Corporal Muse (Sibling Rivalry Press). Her chapbooks Any Proper Weave (Kelsay Books) and Professional Happiness (Backbone Press) will appear in 2021. She is the widow of the much-missed poet, editor, and writer Jon Tribble.

Wesley Browne
Wesley Browne is the founder and host of Pages & Pints Reading Series at Apollo Pizza in Richmond, Kentucky. He lives with his wife and two sons in Madison County, where he practices law, co-owns and helps manage local restaurants and a music venue, and coaches sports. This is his debut book.
