Diane McVey is a retired Audiologist and former owner of Diles Hearing Centers. After earning a BS in Hearing and Speech Sciences and a Masters in Audiology from Ohio University in the early 1970s, Diane worked in her field in southeast Ohio at the Galipolis Developmental Center and Ohio University. After working and becoming a partner, she purchased the Diles Hearing Centers. She and husband Craig Johnson built a professional building at 275 West Union Street in Athens for the practice as well as participated in numerous international travel opportunities prior to retirement.

As a Board member and Chair of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, she enjoyed promoting small businesses in our area. Diane has been active in the Athens Rotary Club and Rotary District 6690 since the 1980s. After participating in the Educational Center Capital Campaign for Stuart’s Opera House, she joined the Board and especially enjoys working on development and the Verity Hall renovations with Mary K. Walsh and others.

Diane hosts AirBNB guests in their restored home in Athens and gardens on their 100 acre farm near Shade. With two grown children and three grandchildren who all live in southeast Ohio, Diance and Craig spend a lot of time with family or camping and canoeing in restored wood/canvas canoes.
